May/June 2015

Those who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens took their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a weapon.
Nehemiah 4:17 (NASB)

It is easy for us to forget that we are fighting a battle. Many times in the past few months, Joey and I have gotten caught up in the tasks and frustrations of daily life, tired from the adjustments and growth, not realizing that in those situations we are meant to hold onto our weapons.

When we arrived in Colorado Springs in January, God had given Joey and I two words:foundation and relationships. As we work to build these principles in our lives we are learning and realigning our heart to be in sync with how God views these things. We seem to be clueless many times and feel “hard pressed on every side.”

We know that these are ways to distract us from the foundation and relationships that God has called us to build. It is our job to take on the load of our work and to fight for what God is asking us.

The greatest comfort in these battles is that we are not alone:

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
James 5:16 (NLT)

Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22 (NASB)

We are grateful for all of you that walk with us and contend for us on this journey.

Lots of Love, Joey, Laurel, Isaiah, Kyla, Makenna and Noah

We celebrated our sweet girl!
Happy 10th Birthday Kyla!

Joey filmed the YWAMemerge Business Summit that featured John Dawson and other long term YWAM leaders.

Isaiah and Joey enjoyed that Colorado outdoors and went fishing.

Makenna and Noah built a marble track out of a pool noodle. Simple toys = simple fun!

As we roll into summer we are looking forward to:

-Visit from my sister and her family.
Arnulfo, Emilee and the kids will be in Colorado Springs for a couple weeks. We know this time with family will be relaxing and refreshing.

-Getting a head start on our 2015-2016 home school year.

We will begin schooling year around a kindergartner, fifth grader and sixth grader to help offset our schedule and travel for the next year.
-Preparing for the School of Strategic Missions (SOSM) in September.
This full time course will help us develop strategies, perspective and a deeper understanding on how our family will reach the world. We will spend 12 weeks in lecture then return to Central Asia early in 2016. We will be doing special fundraising to cover the added expense of the school as well as our trip to Central Asia. If you’d like to partner with us and give a financial gift please see donation information below.
